Tubulopathy Workgroup

The kidney is responsible for maintaining the so-called “homeostasis” (stable condition of an organism). The renal tubules are the part of the kidney that ensures  that the fluid in our body has just the right volume and the correct composition of salts. Tubulopathies are diseases where this important task of the kidneys is impaired.

The Tubulopathy Workgroup aims to improve the diagnosis and treatment of these rare disorders across the entire age spectrum. This includes the promotion of research, both basic and clinical, to better understand the disease causes and mechanisms and to identify and develop better treatments. Moreover, the group aims to develop treatment standards to guide the management of these disorders.
