Nathalie Godefroid

I graduated from the medecine’s faculty of UCLouvain in Brussels, Belgium with great honour.

I trained in pediatric nephrology at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Canada and Gasthuisberg Hospital in Leuven, Belgium under the mentorship of Professor Proesmans.

I obtained the French University certification of pediatric nephrology in 1999.

I presented my public lecture in 2012 about Bourneville’s tuberous sclerosis (TSC).

I took part in about 40 papers, several registries  and different academic or industry-driven clinical trials.

My main fields of interest are peritoneal dialysis, cystic kidney diseases, Gitelman and Bartter syndromes, primary hyperoxaluria, TSC and atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome.

I am since 2010 the head of the pediatric nephrology unit at the University Hospital Saint-Luc in Brussels where we offer global care to all children presenting with kidney disease.

I am president of the scientific committee of a patient’s association for rare genetic kidney diseases, AIRG, since 2016.

I am the happy mother of 3 adolescents.
